A new ski lift was installed on Red Mountain Ski Area west of town.

1953
The present bridge across the Colorado River replaced Von Rosenberg's 1891 bridge.

1953
Glenwood Springs High School was built, replacing Garfield County High School.

1955
A monument to "Doc" Holliday was erected in Linwood Cemetery by the City of Glenwood Springs.

1956
Hot Springs Pool sold to a group of twenty-two Glenwood Springs businessmen.
