1963
Holy Ghost Novitiate was formed to train young Catholic men to enter the priesthood and was located in the Sumer's Lodge in what is now Glenwood Park.

1964
The Frontier Historical Society was formed to preserve local history.

1967
Glenwood Springs was designated as the site for Colorado Mountain College with the campus located six miles south of town.
